Welcome to Abernethy Primary School

Welcome to our School's website where you will find information about our Primary & Nursery School

About Our School

On behalf of everyone at Abernethy PS, I would like to extend a warm welcome.

In Abernethy, we recognise that every child is unique with a variety of abilities and needs.  We strive to recognise and fulfil these needs, in order for all children to reach their full potential.
We are a Sports Gold Award for the second time and Eco School with Green flag status.  We promote each childs sense of responsibility and respect for themselves, others, their community and the world they live in.

We in Abernethy Primary are one of 11 Primary Feeder schools for Perth High School.

At Abernethy we value the importance of good relationships between home and school and seek to work closely with you throughout your child’s school career. Parents are always very welcome to come and meet the Class Teacher, Principal Teacher and/or the Head Teacher to discuss their child’s education and wellbeing.

Nursery Sports

We will be holding our In-house Sports Day on Thursday 17th June @ 10.30am.   Pleas note that, as per HT’s update, this is an event that we are sadly unable to invite you to.  We will of course take many photos and share these with you.   We have chosen a theme of ‘Silly Sports’!  The children can come dressed as silly as they wish – this might be odd shoes, back to front clothes, silly hair, or even wear their pyjamas!  (No props) Our races of course will be silly based too!  We hope it will be a lovely weather day and look forward to seeing all the silly dressing up!

If your child does not attend on a Thursday we do warmly invite them to join in the fun.  Please drop them off at the nursery gate for 10.30am and return to collect your child at 11.30am.

Warm regards
Nursery team.

(Nursery parents/carers - This has also been sent as an email can you please advise if you do not receive as we are using a new system.  Emma Roe)

Nursery Parent Family Learning Opportunity

We would like to invite all our Nursery parents to attend our first online Nursery Chit Chat. These events are normally a very integral part of our Nursery life and so even though we cannot hold these in the Nursery, staff are working hard to being able to move these online.

The theme of our Chit chat this term shall be on the impact and value of song and rhyme.

If you would like to attend this event via Microsoft Teams on Monday 7th June at 3.30- 4pm, please forward a reply to the school email account, including the email you wish an invite to be sent to.

We look forward to welcoming as many of you as possible.
